The same Spirit who comforted Christ in Gethsemane can console us

Good parents offer warnings about the dangers their children must avoid if they wish to remain safe and at peace. Likewise, out of love for us, Christ has issued warnings - today through His Church - about sins to avoid, and the disastrous consequences of rebellion.

The Saints of Heaven rejoice in our love for Christ, and in our good actions, because all joy in Heaven is shared.

When Christ was present in the Blessed Sacrament, the sanctuary and my soul were ablaze with divine fire and glory.

Christ sees our behaviour in church - some bad behaviour due to ignorance, some due to carelessness or lack of love for Him. He does not take offense. He loves us all dearly. Yet when He sees how some people treat His house of prayer, and His Presence, it's as if He is on the Cross, being struck by His enemies.

Through the Blood of Jesus: When we pray for someone 'in the name of Jesus' or 'through the Blood of Jesus', it's as if fire descends from Heaven, as God's grace is poured upon the needy person.

Though we can see hints of God's glory in nature, we can only 'touch' God in and through Christ. Sin made a gigantic barrier - like a vast curtain across the skies - between Heaven and earth. Only Christ's Cross has torn away that barrier. Christ has made a way through: the Way that we find when we reach Christ and Calvary at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

God loves, as His Creation, the whole of the natural world: bright oceans teaming with life, with whales' waterspouts, and waves glinting in the sunlight, as shoals of fish circle underwater. Flocks of birds soar through the bright sky in the sweet, breezy air, and His glory shines over all. God delights in our love for Him even more than He delights in His Creation.

It was on Calvary that Christ made a bridge by which all who come to Him can reach Heaven; and it is at Mass that we find Calvary.

Through union with the Father, through Christ, in the Spirit, and in confident prayer, it is as though the 'doors' to Heaven open.
