Whoever praises the Father in Christ's name, in the Spirit, is united with Christ and with all the saints who worship in Heaven.
If I remain always at the foot of the cross, I'll remember that all the graces I now enjoy were won through Christ's lonely torment on Calvary. How can I then become proud or self-satisfied?
Where spiritual friends are open-hearted, and one receives Christ in Holy Communion, Christ's glory is so great that it blazes forth and even touches and 'scorches' the other friend.
It is love for God that 'counts' in prayer. Someone who gives his entire attention to God in love and reverence might find himself rising to the 'heights' with no effort, as if on a magic carpet - unlike those who try to storm Heaven with loud demands. The Saints lean down, to encourage us all to approach God with patience and humility.
If we are one with Christ in the Mass in the living memorial of the Sacrifice of the Cross, we are one with Christ in His Eternal self-offering in the inner life of the Blessed Trinity. That is why the Holy Eucharist is a pledge of future glory as well as a sacrifice for sin. To belong to Christ and to receive Him in Holy Communion is a foretaste of the union and communion that we can enjoy for all Eternity if we remains faithful.

As people move towards death, and the Abyss, some cannot see the bridge to the other side. Others know where to find Christ, the bridge, and walk steadily towards Him. Some people have heard about the bridge but have allowed themselves to be swept away, in serious sin, towards disaster.
Some people do not believe in the 'bridge to Heaven', which is Christ; or they allow themselves to be carried away by the crowd to follow another, Godless way of life. At death, suddenly arriving at the Abyss, and nowhere near the 'bridge', they plunge to their doom. Nothing can stop them from falling. They have nothing to hold onto.
Just as the people of God in Moses' time were led by a pillar of fire, a true contemplative today can be guided interiorly as if by a strong sweet fire. It teaches and consoles in just the way that Christ does.

Someone who keeps Christ at the centre of life has Him as a unifying factor amidst the many persons and incidents of that entire life. Without Christ, life consists of unrelated incidents and a lack of good direction.

The Christ we meet in Holy Communion is as if at the 'doorway' of three areas. He is the point at which His friends of earth, Purgatory and Heaven meet. We on earth are close to Him, but not yet wholly secure; the Holy Souls are safe forever, but cannot yet 'hold' Him; the Saints share His glory, and can never lose Him.
Whenever a true friend of God waits before Him, the Lord must swiftly reach down, to draw His friend to His heart.
Christ is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. We please and honour God when we kneel to thank Him for allowing us to do His work on earth - especially priests.

At the Easter Vigil, Christ leaned over my chair, showing how delighted He was to be with me, and at my desire to please Him, to live at peace with everyone, and to make Him widely known and loved.

Christ and His mother are pleased whenever we turn to them with the simplicity and trust of a child.
Christ is pleased by our devotion to Him at the tabernacle. He leans like a king from a palace window, arms open wide, to give a lovely greeting. He is alive, and risen, and Present with us. He with one with the Father and Holy Spirit, pictured close by Him.
