The Holy Eucharist, which is Jesus Christ Really Present, is such a great and holy gift that two Angels accompany the priest as he carries the blessed Sacrament to us, for Holy Communion.

It was an earnest request from the Lord: "Tell everybody who will listen" - that Jesus our God and Saviour is truly Present at every Mass, 'hidden' in the sacred species, and praying just as He did on Calvary, for sinners.

It is mainly because Catholic children have been so poorly catechised that, not knowing about Christ's Real Presence in Church, they chatter, shout, and misbehave, as if in a playground.

If people of another religion were to gaze into some of our noisy churches, would they believe - Christ asked - that our claim is true: that Christ our God is adored and Present there?

Christ was pleased that I had plucked up courage to speak, as He wished, about behaving quietly in church, which is a place consecrated for prayer, where He is Really Present with us.

Christ asked me always to practice what I preach: to maintain in His Presence a beautiful 'balance', between approaching Him with awe and gratitude, and being confident that He offers me, daily, experiences of the most tender intimacy.

After the Consecration, we can be certain that Christ is Present amongst us: Christ Who died on the Cross, praying for sinners, and Who is Present now, praying for us in our day, and offering the same sacrifice.

If we were to search round the whole world, we could find no greater honour being conferred upon a man than the gift of the Ministerial Priesthood. He is chosen to represent Christ our God, Who came to earth to save us, and Who is even now with us in the Blessed Sacrament.

Christ is substantially Present with us in the church, in the tabernacle, and is made Present on the altar at the Consecration in the Mass. Crowds of adoring angels surround Him.

Wherever there is a Catholic church, with the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle, it is as if there is a stairway that connects that 'house of God' with Heaven. Jesus, Who is God and man, is substantially Present in the Mass, and remains with us in the tabernacle.

Christ our Saviour is present in the Sacred Scriptures, present in the priest who is 'another Christ' for us, present in the assembly which is Christ's body - yet He is Present supremely, substantially, in the Eucharistic species. Under the appearance of bread and wine, Christ is as close to us as to His followers in Galilee long ago.

To be in the Presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament is to be in the Presence of God: to be with our Saviour now, as the Apostles were with Him in Galilee or Jerusalem. Though He is 'hidden', he deserves adoration and reverence in traditional ways. It is not appropriate to arrange rock music, or half-naked dancing girls.

The image of Jacob's Ladder, seen in a vision, is helpful when we want to explain the importance of being in a Catholic church, where Jesus our God is Really, substantially Present in the tabernacle. Through Jesus, we have access to our Father in Heaven. Jesus is like a 'ladder' by which we can ascend, in prayer.

We meet Christ in the prayer and love of the Christian community, in the Holy Scriptures, and in our priests; and supremely in His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament

Christ revealed Himself to me as Really Present in Westminster Cathedral, in all His glory, just as in my parish church at home.

Jesus Christ, our incarnate God, is substantially Present with us in the Holy Eucharist. We cannot see Him within the Sacred Host. But we who believe in His words accept the truth about His Presence, rejoice in it - and are eager to show our love and devotion in traditional ways of adoration, reverence, and with processions and hymns.

A good priest feels privileged to be ordained, is awestruck by Christ's love, believes all that the Church teaches, never grumbles about his work, is keen to hand on the truth, is fearless in preaching, tells the whole truth about faith and morals, and requests reverent behaviour in church, where Christ is Really Present in the Blessed Sacrament.

No other body, amongst Christian groups, is One and Holy and Catholic and Apostolic, as is the Catholic Church, and with Christ Himself Present within her in the sacraments, particularly the Blessed Sacrament. Some Christians have sacraments but not complete unity. Others seem united but have few sacraments and are not Catholic.

People who believe in the words of Jesus about the Holy Eucharist behave as people should behave towards their God and Saviour, Really Present under the appearance of Bread. They approached with love, awe and reverence.

Our Blessed Lady's whole desire is to give glory to her Father, just as Jesus Christ her Son has always done. She invites us to do the same, though she is saddened to see how little respect is paid to Christ their Divine Saviour, Really Present in the Mass, and in the tabernacle.
