At the consecration, through Christ's Presence, it is as if a way has been made in the 'cliff-face' of earthly life, and Heaven's glory shines through.

Truly, Christ our God is Present before us, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity: Present in glory at every Mass to pray to the Father on our behalf. He is the Living Bread, come down from Heaven, for the life of our souls. On the feast of 'The Body and Blood of Christ', we pay Him special honour.

Before the tabernacle, we are in the Presence of the living God, whose Triune glory fills the Church. To be close to Christ in the tabernacle is to be close to the living God Whose glory fills the church.

Flames billow out from the front of the altar. The fire represents the holiness of Christ in His Divinity, in His Real Presence on the altar. We need to ensure that we approach with awe as well as love - with no 'clothing of sin' that might catch fire from that conflagration.
