The Saints and Angels are delighted by the honour we show them, as well as by our love for God. Angels and Saints are close to us in church, as we praise God Who is on high, above us all. Yet how sad it is that so many people don't know about the glory within the church.

We are all on a journey, past great swamps and quicksands. It is not loving to say nothing when we see people set out on a dangerous path instead of the safe one: hence the importance of honest ecumenism, of good catechesis, and evangelisation.

Someone who speaks about Mount Everest is worth believing if we know that he has followed the right path. Someone who speaks about God and Heaven is worth believing if he or she has evidently followed the right path: by faith in Christ, love for God and neighbour, self-denial in order to do God's Will, and the surrender of selfish ambitions.

There is only one way to Heaven - Christ Himself. By Baptism, each person enters the 'bridge', the safe way to Heaven. Some people who have not yet found the bridge, but who are making their way towards it, can be helped by God to reach Heaven, but there is no bridge but Christ.

The Father is reaching out all the time, through Jesus, to 'gather in' and give salvation to people all over the world. Yet not many listen to Jesus and to the teaching of His Church.

There have been may attempts made by men to reach Heaven. Everyone deserves to hear the good news that God has revealed to mankind, in and through His Divine Son, Jesus Christ, Who has made a Way for all to follow: a safe and sure Way to Heaven.

It is right and necessary that we 'children of God' encourage others too to live in union with God through Baptism, and to persevere in love to the end. It is God's wish that when we are purified we enter Heaven as 'fire entering fire'. In God, there will be no more suffering or pain. Christ came down to earth, sharing our life, to offer us a share in His life.

People in television programmes are pictured 'before' and 'after', as they learn social skills. How many of God's own people strive to grow in charity, courtesy, self-control, knowledge and gratitude, so that they might be at ease, mingling with Saints and Angels in Heaven?

When the Blessed Sacrament is brought to the home of a sick person, it is truly Christ Who is Sacramentally Present there, guarded as always by the Angels who love and adore Him.

Christ our God Who reigns in Eternal Glory, is Really Present in the Blessed Sacrament in church, and in the homes of the sick who receive Holy Communion. It is fitting that an 'altar' is prepared, with candles and a clean cloth and a crucifix, where the pyx may be placed.
