No matter how detailed an edict or constitution, it cannot foster true happiness or wisdom in a country or continent if there is no mention in it of God, or God's love. To fail to mention God is not to leave aside the question of belief, but to show that faith is irrelevant to those involved; and it demonstrates their ignorance of the importance of Christian history not only locally but also throughout the world.

We need to be on our guard, always. Just as wolves wait at the edge of the wood, prowling around, ready to leap upon any weak creature nearby, so, the demons seize every opportunity to cause confusion in good people, mislead good minds - and also use them to lead others astray, intellectually as well as morally. In Christ, we can find safety.

The Church is like a city with St. Peter's basilica at the centre. There are demons outside the city, attacking people, as they cry out for mercy. Yet there are angels guarding the city and its inhabitants. The Church is guaranteed God's help and protection, through the power of the sacraments, the wise guidance of the Angels, the frequent blessing by the Clergy, and the prayers of the Baptised.

People endanger their souls by their involvement in the occult, in any of its forms, which include spiritualism, with its attempts to speak with or to 'call up' the spirits of the dead. To take part is to risk evil spirits entering the souls of the curious. Yet anyone who grows fearful should know that Christ's power is greater that the power of any creature - whether demonic or human.

When the Angels bow low, in awe, at the arrival of Jesus Christ, at the Consecration, they demonstrate, by their action, their interior disposition. We can do the same. We can express our adoration and love by reverent gestures, prayers, genuflections, and also by our silence in church, and our modest clothing, and dignified bearing.

Christ rejected Satan's offer to give Him the glory of the kingdoms of the world, if Christ would worship him - and then Christ gave a demonstration of humility, to help us, since He knows that the most common temptation of weak human beings is to pride, and self-sufficiency. Other weak people are tempted to despondency, thinking themselves unlovable. These too need Christ's powerful help.

There are far-away countries where some communities are so isolated that some people in power permit horrible injustices against the powerless, who become deprived of all hope. Cruel people who do not repent will find themselves isolated after death, themselves at the mercy of creatures stronger than they: the demons in Hell.

If a follower of Christ has not remained alert, and has failed to prevent the admittance of thoughts and desires that are unworthy of a person on the Way to Heaven, his stream of consciousness thought is like a stream full of shrieking demons who are chatting to one another as they invade his mind and soul.

A person who freely welcomes evil thoughts, or selfish desires, is as if being hospitable to a stream of shrieking demons, who chatter to one another as they enter.

We are glad when people are happy, in church; reverence in Church cannot be separated from dignity, however; and when young people show their delight in the arrival of church banners by loud shrieking and whistling - as if greeting footballers before a game - they demonstrate their ignorance, and their poor catechesis. It is tragic that these Catholics do not yet know how to prepare for the reverent worship of almighty God.

The newspapers depict, from time to time, horrible pictures of cellars where sadistic men have entombed helpless victims, for the satisfaction of their perverted plans. If they do not repent before they die, such men will find themselves 'entombed'. by their own choices, in Hell, where the 'treatment' inflicted by the demons is worse than anything suffered on earth.
