God's light, pouring into the soul of one who is reconciled, reveals only minor imperfections, which sometimes seem unavoidable in life on earth.

The reciprocal love blazing out between them is the Holy Spirit: a torrent of love so fiery and radiant that no sinful creature could have borne the sight. In earthly life, it's as though we run a race in full view of Christ and the Saints; but those who prefer to leave the track will miss the triumphant end to the race, having taken a trajectory that leads to outer darkness.
