The generous response of the Blessed Virgin to God's invitation to become the Mother of God brought her much suffering - but also tremendous joy and glory. And so it is with us, when we respond to God's call, and allow Him to lead us through trials to bliss and intimacy.

All the Saints were smiling, sharing their joy with one another, because the Church on earth was praising God the Father, through Christ, in the Spirit, as the congregation said the great 'Amen' at Mass.

The Lord showed me St. Bernadette, who is blissfully happy in Heaven now, with the other Saints, after her short and painful life. All who love God and sincerely try to live as children of God as she did can hope to spend eternity in bliss, with the Holy Trinity.

The Lord showed me that thousands of Saints in Heaven live in perfect peace, in blissful enjoyment of the beauty of God, united in praise of the Father and in love for one another.

It is possible to bear constant heartache 'side-by-side' with spiritual joy, as Jesus Himself experienced in earthly life. His heart ached whenever people showed misunderstanding or malice towards Him, yet He remained in blissful union with the Father.

Christ told me how much joy it gave Him to see me full of wonder at the gift of life, each time I was pregnant. Each time I celebrate the birthday of one of the children, I find that Christ shows me anew, in prayer, how He delights in my gratitude.

It is a wonderful thing when a woman welcomes the gift of a child - and when her other children see her joy, which makes them more sure of being loved.

No imagery can convey the horror of separation, in Hell, from the Source of all love and joy. There is no hope of release, for those who have wilfully chosen, until death, to ignore God's warnings.

A couple can stay together for many years, and enjoy a peaceful and happy marriage in old age, if they have learned to forgive one another, amidst the burdens, turmoil and changes that come about in most married lives.

We need not live in dull austerity. Just as Christ changed water into 'the best wine', not the most ordinary, so I have done right to ensure 'the best' for our home; this means not extravagance, but whatever is pleasant, helpful, beautiful, and comfortable, for visitors and family.

After Confession, absolution, prayer and penance, I found myself lifted - as the Lord explained - into the 'dance' of the Three Divine Persons, Who showed me Their delight in my trust and obedience, as They shared Their joy with me in prayer.

When I had repented of my fault, Christ told me joyfully that I was forgiven; indeed, that He had forgiven me as swiftly as I used to forgive my own children when one was at fault.

There are many children who, left to themselves, make foolish or selfish decisions about their behaviour; for example, many choose to watch pornography on their computers instead of doing their school-work. Yet Christ is at work, by His grace, calling back each one to find lasting joy and fulfilment.

Christ looks with delight at the former-prostitutes who have left behind their old lifestyle and now share with old friends the Good News about the peace and joy to be found in Christ's love and forgiveness.
