God the Father looks on with infinite kindness whenever a person who has failed in virtue has then repented. It is just as when the father greeted his son with extravagant delight, in the Gospel story about the young man who wanted his inheritance.
People who say they love God but who refuse to do His will are as if 'hiding' away from His sight, in a dark pit. As long as they stay 'hidden', they are not yet walking on the bridge to Heaven, the 'bridge' made by Christ across the Abyss.
Christians have a clear 'view' of life's purpose, and life's Way, and life's goal. Those without Christian faith and the truths of faith are like searchers in a helicopter in the dark, who can only see what is lit up in a small pool of light in each successive moment. But they cannot see the Way, or the goal.
Just as a mother delights in all her children, with all their differences, so God delights in the different races to which we belong, with our various differences.
When someone perseveres in intercession for a person in danger, it's as if someone allows herself to be suspended on a rope and lowered into a mineshaft, to rescue someone trapped on a broken ladder with no way up and only danger below. The 'rescuer' has to be supported from above; but she can invite the endangered person to hold on, and to be brought up high, to light and safety.
When we pray to God, in Jesus' name, for help for someone in need, we can be sure that God sends down grace from Heaven, like a stream of glory, to enfold that person in need, to enlighten his mind and strengthen his will to do good - if he will respond and turn to God.
God our loving Father delights in forgiving each person who turns to Him in sorrow for sin, and trust. But those who do not repent of their sins and do not turn to God, cannot receive the forgiveness which He holds out to us all our lives.

It is good that we delight in beautiful things and thank God for them.
As we enter the church, Christ greets us from the tabernacle. He delights especially when we love and honour His Mother on her feast days.
Our Father in Heaven looks with delight upon everyone who speaks with others about His Son, Jesus, and Jesus' Holy Mother Mary. We are right to share our faith with joy, glorifying God and helping other people.
We confess our sins at the beginning of Mass, but we must not become despondent about our little failings. Heaven is ablaze with light, and full of joy, right now; and we who join in the Sacred Mysteries join in Heaven's praise.
The Lord explained that He delights in giving gifts to those who ask in faith for His help - and He is lavish in His response. This applies to beautiful weather and glorious skies as much spiritual requests.
We have an astonishing power when we pray with Jesus, in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The whole Church is united in offering praise and thanks, to the delight of God the Father.

The Saints are all around us, with Christ, as we pray; they delight in the love in our hearts, and in every reverent word and gesture as we honour them, and adore and praise the Three Divine Persons.
Christ looks on with joy when we celebrate life or good news by sharing food and drink with friends, at a party, in genuine mutual delight, with a desire to give joy and to comfort tired hearts. Heaven is a little like that.
We can picture Heaven as being like a big party, where everyone is related, and, where people live together in mutual delight, love and care, in God's presence; yet careless or lukewarm friends of God are held and purified below, until they are ready to take part. Those who refuse God's friendship utterly, however, descend to Hell, where there is no hope of joy.
It is tragic to see someone walking as if in a 'tunnel' of gloom, hidden, by a life of sin, from enjoying God's light, and with none of the peace-of-soul that comes with repentance. Such a soul is in need of the powerful help brought by the prayers of a friend, and the grace of God.
