Many Catholics today, who do not believe in all the teachings of the Church, paint a caricature of the era before the Last Council. They say that the laity did nothing but 'pay, pray and obey', but seem unaware of how much Christ admires people who lead prayerful, humble and obedient lives, in any age.

All of those little children who have died and who were free from personal sin - whether they were miscarried, aborted, delivered alive but then soon died, or lived severely handicapped and incapable of choice - are now happy. They are at peace, close to the Father's heart, without any pain.

When God allows us to endure suffering, we must remember that He can bring good out of every evil, including sickness. We please Him if we refrain from complaining when things are painful or inconvenient. By patience we respect the Father's Will and imitate Christ in His obedience.

Even many Catholics grumble and complain when they are asked to bear things which are painful or inconvenient. This shows a lack of understanding, or a lack of love for the Will of the Father, Who invites us to imitate the patience and trust of His Son.

It is as if, far above the earth, the Godhead holds at its heart an oasis of light. This is the city of God, home of the Saints and Angels for Eternity; and it is foolishness, in the Lord's sight, to risk losing an Eternity of bliss, there, for a moment's earthly pleasure or gain followed by Eternal pain and darkness.

We can be helped to bear painful memories if we notice the spiritual growth that was the result of accepting and offering up those trials in union with Christ - even those caused by our own foolishness. All seems disastrous when a flower bud splits open; but only by that 'injury' can a beautiful flower emerge.

A sinful soul, damaged by a seriously sinful way of life, is like a bombed-out shop in a war-zone. Rubbish is strewn all over the street, from the blast: and no trading can take place until the premises have been cleaned, mended, painted, furnished and re-stocked. As kind people can make a place habitable, so the prayers of our Blessed Lady are powerfully effective in restoring souls to their earlier beauty.

Christ showed me, before Mass began, the glory above the sanctuary, and the steps that led to the Father's throne. He asked me to paint what I saw, and then to complete a huge picture, with Saints and Angels too. Everything that we do at Mass, with and through Christ, is done for the glory of our Heavenly Father.

The sick can exercise great spiritual power, with Christ. Those who resolve to be patient and to accept a special vocation can work for God and the Church, in and through their sufferings. By God's grace they can accept without resentment their pains and humiliations, as a penance for themselves and to help save other souls, in union with Christ Who won salvation for us by His patient love, in accepting the Cross.

The Lord asked me to speak boldly about Christ's Real Presence in the Most Holy Eucharist. I should tell everyone: "The Person of Whom I speak, as I show you a painting of Jesus Christ, is a real Person: A Divine Person, the God-man, still alive, and Present amongst us, deserving of the greatest respect, reverence and love."

Just as, on an aircraft, the flight is endangered if someone becomes so angry that he attacks the pilot or breaks a window, so, in the spiritual life, a person who commits a mortal sin risks missing a safe landing, and even entering a state which is indescribably painful.

The Church has for centuries inspired, employed, or admired painters, who keep before the eyes of the faithful, in graphic form, those truths of the Faith on which we should act, if we are to be saved by the grace of Christ. We can be helped by images of Heaven or Hell, even if angels or demons, for example, are portrayed in semi-human form, or in ways stemming from a particular culture.

The Lord asked me to paint a very large picture of the Last Judgement. He asked me to show the glory of Heaven as being like a blazing light at the top of the painting. I could include a stairway to Heaven, representing the only way there: the way made by Christ through His Death and Resurrection.

The Lord asked me to paint a big picture according to his instructions. I could add to it whatever, of what he has shown me, will improve the picture; but I must be certain to include the scene of the Last Judgement, in which Christ separates the saved from the damned.

There are times in our lives when we feel all alone, in pain and turmoil, as if far out to sea, longing for help, whilst people on the shore believe that we are enjoying ourselves. Yet there is one Friend Who always knows the truth, and is willing to help us.

In asking me to paint a Last Judgement, the Lord intends (He explained) to sum up for everyone the entire message which He has been giving me during over twenty years of teachings-in-prayer: the message that we are each on our way to Heaven or to Hell, which is why Jesus said: 'Repent and believe the Good News' about His love for us, and our hope of salvation.

"I Am Here", in the Sanctuary, Christ said to me. "I AM HERE, IN ALL MY GLORY, LIZZIE. PUT THIS IN YOUR PICTURE" - which meant, in the painting of the Last Judgement. In the area where I show people living a virtuous life, and going to Mass, I should place the figure of Christ, in His Risen Glory, in the sanctuary - just as I have seen him today.

Whenever a person offers up, in union with Christ in His Passion, some painful or distressing experience or state or event, in patience, to help sinners, someone in spiritual danger is saved from falling into Hell. The prayers we offer in Jesus' name are powerful, especially when we do penance for those who refuse to do so.
