At every Mass we stand beside Christ crucified for our salvation

This is the heart of the Catholic Faith: that Christ died to save us; and that this same saving Sacrifice is re-presented and offered here at the Mass in sacramental form.

The wall of sin, which separates us from God, is scaled only by Christ, Who stands with His mother. He alone can help us to reach the Glory of Heaven

Christ pushed aside a curtain and unveiled more of the joys which shall delight those who love Him to the end.

God 'is' our salvation. If we remain 'enclosed' in His life and live in a fruitful union, until death, we shall enter His glory.

Though we can see hints of God's glory in nature, we can only 'touch' God in and through Christ. Sin made a gigantic barrier - like a vast curtain across the skies - between Heaven and earth. Only Christ's Cross has torn away that barrier. Christ has made a way through: the Way that we find when we reach Christ and Calvary at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

One of Christ's achievements at His Resurrection was to cause a shining 'corridor' to be built between earth and Heaven: a safe way on high.

If we shrink from sacrifice, we should reflect on the truth, that everything we value on earth shall be surrendered at death; yet everything worthy of Heaven - people too - shall be found 'in Christ' in Eternity. Christ, today, can give us the grace to see life from the standpoint of eternity.

The Godhead was shown as being like the blazing fire at the very entrance to eternal life, at the 'door' to glory.

Christ's Work of the Cross is the central point of all history: the point to which all things were leading from Creation; and the point around which each of us must gather in each new era - in the Mass - in order to speak as children to the Father, relying on Christ's offering and intercession, as we wait for the End of Time.

Someone who adores Christ in the Mass and longs to do His work can remain in spirit beside the Cross all day, with Calvary's offering in mind - making at each moment, with Christ, expressions of love to the Father, thanks for everything good, reparation for sins (patiently accepting trials), prayers for help and salvation for individuals, and prayer for the Church.
