Christ strode joyfully around the 'room' that is my own soul, and explained that it has been truly 'well-swept' by my sincere confession yesterday and my new resolutions, in preparation for His Birthday, on the feast of Christmas.

Many Catholics have no idea of what is really happening at Mass. It is tragic that so many children say that they are bored at Mass. At the end of his purification in Purgatory, this happy soul soared upwards towards Heaven like a swimmer launching himself upwards towards the surface of the ocean, in order to reach for the shore.

A happy soul who leaves Purgatory is greeted by the Angels, is clothed in white, and is led along a path to the foot of the steps that lead to the Father's throne in Heaven.

The Holy Souls in Purgatory undergo an interior cleansing and transformation, as they realise how much time they wasted in earthly life, when they might have shown greater love towards God and their neighbours, in humility and obedience.

A Catholic who refuses to believe some of the truths of the Faith puts up a barrier in his soul, and prevents himself from gaining the sort of clearer understanding of Truth, and of inter-locking truths, that he might have gained from God in prayer.

Far 'below' Heaven and earth is a state of near-darkness where rebellious and unrepentant souls find themselves - through their own choices - quite without joy, hope or beauty.

Christ comforted me by drawing up my soul towards Heaven and showing me the company of Saints. They look with amazement, He said, and gladness, when they see any of us act in obedience, and love for Christ.

The prayers of the Saints, offered for needy souls, are like a fragrant offering to God. As they rise to Heaven, they can penetrate even those hearts which are locked 'from the inside', and persuade sinners to open their hearts to God.

People who repent of their sins show their contrition in different ways. Real repentance causes souls to turn to God as did St. Ignatius Loyola and others. But Judas rushed away to kill himself, despite his sorrow. Hence the need to pray for one another.

The soul of someone who lives in unrepented, serious sin - particularly if involved in pornography - is like a filthy room, full of dust, grime, rotten food, spilt drinks, excrement, cobwebs, and broken glass. What is Man? He is a living creature, of soul and body, created by God to a particular design and for particular purposes. Whoever misuses his body goes against God's plan, and against his own nature.

If we pray in the name of Christ, with faith in Him and in the power of His Spirit, we can be sure of holding 'outside' our souls those thoughts, temptations, demons and fears which sometimes attack us. With Christ, we are safe from them, as if behind castle walls - no matter how terrible the 'noise' of the warfare being waged by our spiritual enemies.
