Christ is with us as we honour His saints.

Pope John Paul II soars on high, after his death, proceeding swiftly into Heaven, so complete was his union with God, and so great his holiness, simplicity and purity.

It is right and necessary that we 'children of God' encourage others too to live in union with God through Baptism, and to persevere in love to the end. It is God's wish that when we are purified we enter Heaven as 'fire entering fire'. In God, there will be no more suffering or pain. Christ came down to earth, sharing our life, to offer us a share in His life.

If we are sick and call to Christ, He comes to sit by our side, bringing us comfort by His Presence. No words are necessary. His love is enough.

By a sincere prayer for help, a person can receive from God enough grace to be able to turn round, move away from spiritual danger, and climb up high, to rejoin the narrow way that leads to light, which is life in Christ.

Christ loves to welcome His friends in Holy Communion. He especially delights in giving consolation and peace to those who are weary in His service, or enduring extraordinary trials for love of Him.

The Lord comes to be with us when we make a 'spiritual communion'.

Christ our God Who reigns in Eternal Glory, is Really Present in the Blessed Sacrament in church, and in the homes of the sick who receive Holy Communion. It is fitting that an 'altar' is prepared, with candles and a clean cloth and a crucifix, where the pyx may be placed.
