As gigantic flames leap up from the surface of the sun, so the ardent soul's fervent prayers leap up - as great 'flames' of glory - towards Heaven, whenever we offers sincere words of praise to God. This gives joy to the soul, and joy to Heaven.

We are not all called to full-time missionary work; but we should all hope to share our Faith by example and sometimes words. Brave Catholics, called by God to share the Faith boldly, are like charitable people who are willing to hand out maps, free, to passers by, because so many people do not take the road to the City of God, but the wrong road, into a cul-de-sac, in which they will never meet their King and Creator.

As each of us moves towards either Heaven - through God's grace - or Hell, moving because of our own thoughts, words and actions, we are at the same time helping others to move towards Heaven or Hell, by our influence.

People who believe in the words of Jesus about the Holy Eucharist behave as people should behave towards their God and Saviour, Really Present under the appearance of Bread. They approached with love, awe and reverence.

Heresy and dissent needs to be uncovered, so that people are not led astray, their souls endangered - just as a doctor is being kind when he tells a patient that he has discovered an undiscovered wound. A good leader should always ask himself what effect his words are having upon the ordinary man who listens to him. Is the leader holding out hope of peace and justice; does he encourage the man towards co-operation in goodness, and set him a good example, or is he leading him astray?
